Greater Orlando Cares, an organization that connects music and mentoring, will present “Jazz in the Hills: International Jazz Day” on Thursday, April 30th at the Soiree Event and Conference Center in Pine Hills.
The event is hosted by the Thelonious Monk Institute, District Two County Commissioner Bryan Nelson, State Representative Randolph Bracy, Greater Orlando Cares, and Yvonne Loggins Coleman.
Fused with the Jazz in the Hills Jazz Educational Day that was postponed from last year, this event will feature an “All-Star Global Concert,” a historical review of jazz culture put forth by Eric Bindler, and an evening happy hour featuring the Florida Steppers International.
Darrell Butler, Great Orlando Cares chairman, said that this effort highlights the importance of music in the community and will also aid in growing the mission of Greater Orlando Cares, which is to mentor students in Orlando.
